The journey of faith of the Servant of God Simona Tronci

Simona rose to heaven on 18^th April, 1984, Holy Wednesday, at the age of 23 years. A tumour consumes her like a paschal candle and induces her to complete immobility, by that time mute, deaf and blind.

Simona, one of the funders of the "Primavera Community" of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the main charismatic leader in worship and song of praise, wrote about thirty songs suitable for the Liturgy and praise. In her backpack never misses the guitar and the Bible: she wants everyone to praise God. She is very dedicated into encouraging other persons to the faith and to the witness of the Gospel, gladly offers profound reflections.

Teacher in praying, which intensity leads one to sink in the Trinitarian love, she loves deeply God and always thanks Him for the gift of life. Simona wrote in her diaries (1975-1984) most of her meditations and prayers, from which emerge the desire to completely understand the value of the Cross and suffering: I feel a courage which strengthens me, a new faith that comforts me, a new joy that makes me a tireless witness.

Simona is a normal young girl like many others, but she put as centrepiece of her life, Jesus, the most precious pearl. She comes from a catholic family. A deep religious feeling emerges since her adolescence. She is regularly involved in the frequency of the Sacraments and deepens her devotion to the Blessed Mary ever Virgin.

Since 1975 she worked with great enthusiasm in the team of "Operation Africa" supporting children suffering of leprosy. Gifted with a great intelligence, she obtains the High School certificate and enrols in the Cagliari's Faculty of Theology. She is the first girl admitted to that course of study, passing the exams with brilliant results. Charity plays a fundamental role in her life. She makes all the efforts to help the poor people of the city. While life smiles at her, the disease' symptoms start to appear. Simona does not discourage herself, but comforts and supports all the suffering people she encounters. Her spiritual depth grows in despite of the pain, of the different surgical procedures and cycles of chemotherapy. Soon a chain of prayer is formed, there are improvements, but the God's plans for Simona are different.

The Capuchin Father Clemente Pilloni easily understood Simona's love for Jesus, indeed wrote the book In love with Jesus and, through its distribution, Simona was known.

After numerous requests from both laymen and religious, His Eccellency Mons Alberti instituted the Court for the Diocesan Inquiry about the heroic virtues of Simona Tronci. As Postulator, was named Father Paolino Rossi (already postulator for the Father Pio of Pietrelcina's cause) and, as Vice postulator, Father Beppe Pireddu, who now is the Superior of the Capuchin Convent of Cagliari. After the Judge Court's death, Monsignor Gesuino Prost, the investigation has had a break, but many faithful followers are waiting for the investigation to be started again very soon.
